Sessions focused on scenario forecasting, inter-cultural competence and diversity awareness and exploration of personal leadership strengths as well as the dangers of overusing them. The cohort also broke into four groups, each of which explored “what-if” scenarios regarding one of the following topics: HR excellence, the tuition model, rethinking school structure and operations, and potential in online learning.

The group took time to soak in a bit of Nashville, including a visit to the National Museum of African American Music and a tour of Vanderbilt. Participants will continue to meet for online learning sessions, mentoring and group work before presenting at the 2022 NBOA Annual Meeting. NBOA gives special thanks to Patrick Schuermann, Ed.D., and his faculty colleagues from Vanderbilt University for their partnership in delivering this unique professional development offering to independent school business leaders from across the country.

The program concludes next spring, and at that time, nominations for the 2022-23 cohort will be collected.
