(From Harvard Business Review) After more than 18 months of pandemic-related upheaval, organizations are having to get creative to keep employee morale and energy high as offices gradually reopen. Here are four things leaders can do that will help their employees navigate the transition back to the office:
- Consider providing detailed information about office safety protocols and expectations.
- Allow people to express concern in a non-threatening, productive setting.
- Facilitate interpersonal connections; small gestures such as hosting “back to work” happy hours or group lunches make a difference.
- Monitor and regulate your own emotions, such as by taking walks, blocking the calendar on particular days or times, and engaging an advisor or coach who can provide support and additional reflection.
