(From K-12 Dive) A recent survey by the National Center for Education Statistics highlights the aging infrastructure of U.S. schools. The average age of main instructional buildings is 49 years, with 38% built before 1970. Only about half of schools have undergone major renovations in the last 14 years, and 31% still use portable buildings. Despite efforts to address these challenges, including President Biden’s focus on indoor air quality, supply chain issues and funding deadlines remain obstacles.
