Best Password Managers to Prevent Data Breaches

Password managers help web users protect themselves against security breaches by offering stronger encryption, mobile support and multi-factor identification--a two-step sign-in process, often requiring both a password and code texted to users. Some programs store password data locally whereas others use the cloud. One cybersecurity expert says six services stand out: KeePass, 1Password, SplashID Safe, Dashlane, Roboform and LastPass. To ensure maximum security, some programs do not store master passwords and therefore do not offer password recovery services.
