Campus Tours During Late COVID

(from Inside Higher Ed) Colleges and universities have largely returned to in-person tours this summer, but at many institutions, the tours are smaller and more personalized. With fewer people in a group and limited exposure to buildings, families can hear better and feel better informed, according to some admissions directors. Baylor University offered one-on-one tours this spring, and while fewer total families visited, more actually applied and many more enrolled than in a typical year -- yield doubled. Schools are keeping their online tour components for families that can't afford to travel or don't feel safe doing so, and also in case the Delta variant makes touring in-person once again a public health risk.
