(from CNN) The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Tuesday changed its masking recommendations as the Delta variant of COVID-19 continues to spread. The agency now recommends that people in areas with "high" or "substantial" COVID-19 transmission should resume wearing masks indoors. Nearly two-thirds of U.S. counties have high or substantial transmission of COVID-19. The CDC recommends that local jurisdictions encourage universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students and visitors to schools, regardless of vaccination status.
