While pay for CEOs decreased slightly this year, by 1 percent, pay for CFOs increased slightly, by 1.5 percent, according to the BDO 600, an annual survey of public mid-market companies. CEOs in the smallest range of organizations also saw a slight increase in pay. Executives in manufacturing saw the largest pay increase while those in banking saw the smallest. Most compensation remains a mix of long-term incentives and equity.
