(From HR Dive) For many U.S. families, the costs of child care costs surpass rent, forcing parents to spend a significant portion of their income on care, according to the Department of Labor’s National Database of Childcare Prices (NDCP). In 2022, full-day care costs ranged from $6,552 to $15,600 annually, with center-based infant care being the priciest, particularly in urban areas. For example, Bucks County, PA, saw costs rise to $16,745 in 2024, representing 11.6% of median family income. However, companies offering robust child care benefits see high returns on investment, boosting retention, according to Moms First.
