(From Inside Higher Ed) Differing guidance has emerged for when college students testing positive for covid-19 should be able to break their isolation. Last week, the American College Health Association’s (ACHA) COVID-19 task force suggested COVID-positive students can isolate in their dorms even if they have roommates. The ACHA task force’s recommendations are stricter than those of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which recommends that colleges utilize a five-day isolation protocol require students to test negative on an antigen test prior to leaving isolation. The task force says colleges can utilize either the CDC’s general guidance for isolation, or its recommendation of a 10-day isolation period.
