COVID Vaccine Works in Kids Ages 5 to 11, Pfizer Says

Sep 22, 2021, 6:50 PM

(From AP News) Pfizer and BioNTech said Monday that the companies' two-dose Covid-19 vaccine was safe and showed a "robust" antibody response in children ages 5 to 11. This trial used a smaller vaccine dosage, 10 micrograms, rather than the 30 microgram dose used for people 12 and older. Side effects were also generally comparable to those of people between the ages of 16 and 25 years old who received the vaccine. Pfizer and BioNTech said they will now submit their data from the trial to the FDA for emergency use authorization. They are also testing the vaccine in children under 5 and expect results from that trial by the end of the year.
