(from the Journal of Accountancy) The employee retention credit (ERC) will be terminated early as a result of legislation that passed the U.S. House of Representatives late Friday and is headed to President Joe Biden's desk to be signed into law. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will make wages paid after Sept. 30, 2021, ineligible for the credit (except for wages paid by an eligible recovery startup business).
