The changes build on Florida’s 2023 universal school choice bill that have allowed upwards of 400,000 to 450,000 Florida students are now receiving taxpayer-supported scholarships to attend private schools, including microschools. Proponents argue this flexibility could make microschools more accessible. However, critics express concerns that the law limits local control over school zoning.
