What's ahead for independent schools and health care compliance? In short, it's too soon to tell, meaning the Affordable Care Act remains the law. The Republican majority's plan to repeal and replace President Obama's ACA, starting with the proposed American Health Care Act, would eliminate the ACA's individual and business insurance mandates, among other changes, by 2026 leading to an estimated 58 million Americans without health insurance, according to an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office.
Although the proposal as written would save the federal government some $337 billion over 10 years, its likelihood of doubling the number of uninsured "is not good news for the administration as it negotiates for the bill's package."
