Higher Ed Task Force Pushes To Standardize Financial Aid Letters

(From Forbes) In an effort to simplify and standardize the financial aid process in higher education, the College Cost Transparency Initiative (CCT), established by a task force comprising 10 higher education associations, has developed standards for college financial aid letters. These standards include providing cost of attendance, specifying financial aid type and source, estimating net price, clarifying aid terms, and offering actionable steps. Over 360 colleges, including Dartmouth and state universities, adopted these standards. Bipartisan congressional bills seek to mandate uniform financial aid forms with similar standards.
