(From Hechinger Report) Existing automation technology could save teachers 20-40% of the 50 hours they typically work each week, up to 13 saved hours a week, according to a recent report from McKinsey & Co. Some of the biggest time savings could result from using existing technology for lesson planning, the report suggested. AI software could be used to fill out forms, maintain inventories of materials and automatically order replacement materials. The report authors say spending money on these functions will have more impact than spending on ed tech interventions in the classroom, which have not been shown to help students.
