(from Inside Higher Ed) Colleges and universities facing budget deficits in the multi-million dollar ranges are considering a number of options to right the ship. Cutting programs, letting go tenured faculty, adjunct faculty and other staff members, reducing administrative staff such as deans and vice presidents, incentivizing retirement and freezing hiring are all options different institutions are using. Even Brown University is citing a budget deficit.
