CFOs might not think to track data of intangible assets like customer experience, but such assets are essential to growing business. Financial leaders can work with HR professionals to develop key performance indicators or KPIs to monitor success in developing a strong talent pool, for example. Marketing and finance can work together to collect data on assets like customer experience and brand reputation. Consider comparing your organization's data on intangible assets, such as brand awareness and talent recruitment, to competitors'. Developing metrics may not be easy, but CFOs are in a good position to lead the charge, having an enterprise-wide view of an organization.
