Fresh off raising another $200 million, the four-year-old company has been compared to a Yelp for Chinese families seeking to learn English from native speakers. Teachers wishing to tutor online can create a profile and upload videos of their instruction. Families seeking tutors can scroll through the profiles, check out other families' reviews, and schedule live video training for their child.

More than 200,000 students from at least 32 countries pay to use VIPKID. Most of those students are in China.
