Researchers at University of Arizona conducted a four-week experiment involving 103 participants, and found that using the camera was positively correlated to daily feelings of fatigue, which also resulted in less voice and less engagement during meeting. Additionally, female workers and those newer to the company experienced a heightened sense of fatigue, which likely stemmed from pressures related to self-presentation, the researchers hypothesize.
