Second only to equipment failure, data breaches and cyber attacks have become leading organizational threats, according to a recent study of senior financial executives. Nearly 60 percent said their organizations had been impaired by data breaches or cyber attacks. Sixty-six percent said they had experienced equipment failure, and 52 percent had seen operations affected by natural disasters. But more than half of surveyed executives said they had not developed or tested formal loss-recovery plans. As they face an expanding list of operational risks, CFOs are advised to reach out to data (much of it readily available) and experts that can help them mitigate these risks.
