(From K-12 Dive) Schools nationwide are grappling with a shortage of paper milk cartons. Milk production from dairy suppliers is not the issue, but rather a supply chain shortage of papers and plastics used in the making of milk cartons is to blame. Experts estimate the shortage will last through early 2024. The School Nutrition Association advises communication with state agencies, and California and New York offer flexibility guidelines, including guidelines on bulk dispensers and larger containers.
