New Resource To Address Employee Concerns About Returning to Campus

Jul 1, 2020, 1:25 PM

(From NBOA) As independent schools plan for their employees to safely return to campuses, supervisors and human resources staff are fielding questions about the safety and logistics of returning during the pandemic, while some face pushback about the safety protocols schools have put in place. NBOA has received requests from our members for guidance in responding to these inquiries, and we've drafted a few possible responses to statements, including:

  • My doctor says it’s not safe for me to come back to work.
  • I work more efficiently from home; it makes me more productive. Can I please keep working from home?
  • I have a loved one who is at elevated risk from COVID-19. Can I please keep working from home so that I don’t expose her/him to it?
  • I’m not comfortable sending my daughter/son back to school/daycare until the virus is under control.
  • I’ve looked at the precautions you’re taking, and they aren’t enough. I’m not comfortable returning
