New Resource To Update Employee Handbook Policies

(From NBOA) A new resource from NBOA helps you identify and update policies in your employee handbook in light of COVID-19. It provides sample language for the policies, though these samples are not intended to be complete policies and should be adapted to your school’s culture and needs. Following are some examples of the policies that might need to be addressed in light of COVID-19:

  • Confidentiality and nondisclosure
  • Illness, calling out sick, and leave benefits
  • Timekeeping, telecommuting and telework
  • Vehicle usage and employee travel

Due to the diversity of schools in our membership, these suggestions and samples may not comply with all laws in effect for your school, and you should always consult an employment attorney prior to implementing any policy changes.
