(From the Nonprofit Times) The overall number of donors giving in 2019 compared to 2018 is down 9.5% in the first six months, according to new data compiled from nearly 4,500 nonprofits by the Fundraising Effectiveness Project. The number of donors declined 5.8% with a corresponding drop in revenue of 7.3%. Most notably, Revenue from major giving ($1,000 or more) is down 8.2% while mid-range gifts ($250-$999) has fallen 3.5%, leading some experts to warn that nonprofits’ reliance on year-end major gifts may be unsustainable.
