He argues that online learning is an important part of college and for career advancement; it exposes students to modern, relevant ways to communicate and build relationships; and it teaches students how to use technology for deep, sustained learning. Hudson recognizes that the decision to require such experience makes a statement about a school's core values. A requirement like this is not to be engaged in lightly; the types of online courses should be considered as should the notion of the type of learners a school wishes to develop.
