Panic Buttons Sped Active Shooter Response

(from Washington Post) The security system had been in place at Apalachee High School for only about a week. Every teacher and staff member was issued an identification badge, and on it, a panic button. When an active shooter entered the building earlier this week, staff alerted law enforcement officers almost immediately. A locked classroom door and the school security officers who rushed to action also helped. Where policy might have been improved was monitoring the suspect's behavior before the shooting happened.
