Private, Charter Schools Face Cuts Too

It's not just public schools, but private and charter schools as well that will face challenges if the Trump administration's proposed budget passes. While $1.4 billion in additional funding would go towards school choice programs, other programs that benefit private schools would be cut. These include Title II ($2.3 billion), which supports work that improves teacher quality and the 21st Century Community Learning Center program ($1 billion), which provides funds for after school and extended-care programs. Title II particularly is important to independent schools.
