(from ICEF Monitor) What do students expect from language study abroad, and are their expectations being met? In a survey of 4,755 former and current students from 136 countries, the International Association of Language Centres found high levels of satisfaction, particularly in listening comprehension and reading skills. Overall, most students felt that their experiences matched well with the information they received beforehand. They did feel there was room for improvement in regard to excursions and extracurricular activities, including more opportunities to make friends in the country of their study.
