School Design Affects Workplace Design

May 22, 2019, 11:59 AM

(From BDC Network) The key to office design is to connect to the human needs of the staff, while creating an environment that reinforces the values of the business. The youngest of our workforce today bring with them the values and processes they learned and practiced in a modern school setting — collaboration, accessibility, sustainability, creativity and egalitarianism. Modern school design, with groupings of comfortable and easily movable furniture and easily accessible power sources for technology, for example, has helped younger workers learn to collaborate. Places for reflection and recreation, including access to the outdoors, can also spur productivity.
