(From NPR) A consumer watchdog group is urging schools to remove Lunchables and similar lunch kits from school menus after an analysis found elevated levels of heavy metals. While none exceeded federal limits, five kits would expose someone to 50% or more of California’s maximum allowable dose. Additionally, some snack kits were found to have nearly half the sodium of the federal daily suggested amount. In a statement, a spokesperson for Kraft Heinz said its Lunchables follow USDA standards.
