Three Strategies for Reaching Women Donors

(From Chronicle of Philanthropy) Research shows women donors will control 70% of the $41 trillion available to be contributed over the next decades, according to Boston College’s Center on Wealth and Philanthropy. With more women donors stepping into the spotlight, how can nonprofit organizations tailor their fundraising approaches? Donna Hall, CEO of the Women Donors Network, offers these tips:

  1. Partner with women philanthropists interested in giving time, expertise, and other nonmonetary support.
  2. Create opportunities for collaboration between women donors who are attracted to similar social or environmental causes.
  3. Emphasize values that help advance equity, shift power, and build mutually accountable relationships.
