(From Forbes) Board fundraising is an essential component of an organization's financial health, yet many nonprofits struggle to get their board members excited about fundraising. Nonprofit consultant Rachel Muir suggests three tips for kickstarting board engagement. First, give board members a "menu of ways" they can support the organization and let each individual select which items they want to get engaged in. Once members of the board are interested in fundraising, steward them as if they are team captains, says Muir. “It’s about giving them one-on-one attention and keeping them engaged and motivated,” she wrote. Lastly, show them how others have been successful in fundraising to find what motivates them and makes the process fun.
