(From NPR) At a time when more young people identify as nonbinary or transgender, admissions policies at historically women's colleges have loosened to reflect that shift. Hollins University, a historically women's college in Roanoke, Va., is among the latest schools to revise its policies. Now, students whose gender identities change during their time at the school can still graduate, including women who transition to identify as a man and nonbinary students. Yet, the school's new policy still specifically excludes nonbinary applicants. Faculty members at the school say this new policy could impact students on campus who feared coming out and revealing their gender identity.
