Camilo Bearman has over 30 years’ experience designing learning environments for a variety of age groups and instructional models. He is the K12 Sector Leader for the NE region at DLR Group, helping to deliver projects up and down the east coast and across the country. His approach to “deep listening” and “design iterating” supports institutions that have unique challenges and seek to explore project delivery methods which range from traditional design/bid/build to more progressive design/build and P3 partnerships. Bearman’s background with integrated, full-service, A/E design methodologies support processes that value early collaborative input from many disciplines and diverse voices, especially owners, students and families.

Laura Miyoshi

Laura Miyoshi

Chief Operating Officer (Retired)

Sandy Spring Friends School

Over the past decade, and prior to her retirement, Laura Miyoshi helped transform Sandy Spring Friends School’s 140-acre campus. She led several projects including the creation of a campus quad, the construction of an award-winning upper school building, a completely redesigned commercial kitchen, renovation of administrative offices, improved playing fields and playgrounds, and even 4 acres of solar panels discreetly sited on campus.  Miyoshi’s leadership style is not born from traditional business management books, but from a deep respect for her colleagues and for the wisdom that is generated through the process of debate, and challenging assumptions while being open to seeing things differently. This type of leadership helps her maintain great team relationships from project concept through completion.
