HR Compliance: Self-Audit Best Practices

Adhering to federal regulatory requirements while remaining attentive to your school’s culture can be challenging, as policies that are known to be best practice can feel “too corporate” in an independent school setting. In this workshop, we will learn how to implement HR-related best practices in a way that feels authentic to your school community, with a focus on recruitment, safety and performance management. Using NBOA's “Culture Meets Compliance” publication — an interactive assessment tool — we will highlight elements of an effective human resources self-audit and support you in instituting, identifying and pursuing practices that help you hire and retain mission-aligned employees and comply with all federal regulations.

All registrants will receive a coupon code for a complimentary copy of NBOA's “Culture Meets Compliance” publication.

Learning Objective(s):

  • Participants will learn to assess the efficacy of HR processes.
  • Participants will be provided with guidance on best practices for employment law compliance.
  • Participants will learn to align their HR practices with the culture of the school’s community.
