This one-week intensive class discusses the requirements for and interaction between different forms of employee leave including the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), workers’ compensation leave and USERRA. This course includes asynchronous instruction available daily through videos, reading and online discussion topics. On Thursday morning at 11 a.m. ET, there will be a live one-hour study session all participants are invited to join. Participants should plan to reserve 1-2 hours daily for the course in order to maximize learning.

Participants will learn about the leave mandated under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the law's eligibility requirements and employer obligations; leave-related medical accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its 2008 expansion as well as the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, workers’ compensation leave and USERRA. Participant will also learn how all of these laws interact with each other. All participants are invited to join in a live one-hour study session on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. ET when the instructor will answer questions and engage with the group on policy implementation strategies.
